Having to censor yourself on twitter.
When you’re applying to be a social media specialist for many companies, it’s probably in my best interest that I keep my tweets as classy as possible. Although one can debate the classiness of telling every opponent of your favorite team to “Suck it”, for the most part I do a good job.
STALKER ALERT: I personally look up the twitter/facebook accounts of the person in charging of the hiring process, so more than likely they are doing the exact same thing when I apply. Yes, I realize that I could make my twitter account private, but I’m not saying anything personal, nor am I trying to hide anything. Also, private twitter accounts are for people that take themselves way too seriously.
But I digress.
I just wish old people were still ignorant to social media and I didn’t have to worry about these things.
